  1. Hi, when we arrived to Akumal it felt like heaven. What a beauty! Also, I was surprised by the courtesy and the upgrade to Ocean view.

    But, unfortunately it all went downhill when the Air-conditioner broke down. And, from that moment my nightmare began and unfortunately we started having issues at Bahia Príncipe Akumal.

    One of the rooms we booked had the air conditioner broken, and sadly the reception team lied repeatedly about services and room availability. Therefore, we suffered with one very hot room during our vacation. We stayed in touch with reception and supervisors, and was surprised to know that they all mentioned that they had no clue about what was happening. Do they not make notes about these things? Were is the effective communication? I had to call way to many times and explain the situation, and some of them still acted stupid. This hotel lost all credibility with me. How will I ever believe anyone from this hotel? In addition, I lost to many hours attempting to get this issue resolved, thus losing much needed vacation time.

    Finally a supervisor contacted us. But then, he asks us … What room did you book? And then says "we can move you to a room with no ocean view". Really!!!! Do you make us happy with a courtesy upgrade, to then shove it in our faces. To then take it away. Do you attempt to shame customers, instead of fixing the issue. How dare you, lie to my face and try to embarrass me. SHAME on this hotel. I assure you that this would never had happened in the United States. Why should we suffer with compulsive lies and unresolved room issues during a vacation. All of this caused me ansiety and severe headaches.

    Lastly, my brother in law was given a "courtesy" bottle of wine, yet it was charged to my room. I was then pressured to sign and provide a copy of my passport. Also, I sent a msg to you via the Akumal Facebook and DM. Well, my concerns were not address, and I was banned from two of the websites. My comments are not there and people on that webpage will be lied to. LIES, LIES and LIES. Trust, that there are many ways for me ensure that the public knows about this type mistreatment toward a customer. I would like a phone call from management. Thank you in advance.
