12 Things to Know Before Coming to the Dominican Republic as a Slow Traveler or Digital Nomad

We’ve taken our slow travel lifestyle to the Dominican Republic. We’ve based ourselves in Las Terrenas on the north end of the island and are taking small trips from there. Over our last few weeks here as slow travelers and digital nomads, we’ve learned a few things and had some surprises. Here are 12 things we’ve learned during our time here.

  1. While I agree that Las Terranas is not inexpensive some things are. If you’re buying local products and not imported you’ll save money. We have stayed there for a few weeks and the grocery bills weren’t bad. Going out for a nice dinner in LT will not be cheap thou. Cheaper than Canada but not by a ton.
