  2. Lots of good comments! But here is one you might add; how to cross the street. A lot of Canadians and Americans think that pedestrians get the right of way at a crossing and blindly walk out into the street thinking everyone should stop for them. However, I have found that the Dominicans operate with this logic: the bigger the vehicle you drive, the more right away you have and unfortunately, pedestrians are at the bottom. Always look both ways before you cross the street!
