  1. One of the other airlines is Sky High Airlines. They started seasonal direct flight to Providence from DR last year. We have a huge diaspora of Dominicans in Rhode Island, the biggest percentage in the nation by state population and we need more direct flights instead of having to go to Boston or JFK. Hoping this will give us more options

  2. I hope this means we get more nonstop flights from Charlotte to Santo Domingo and Charlotte to Puerto Plata all year long. American usually just offers connecting flights to Miami.

  3. WE ARE IN CHARLOTTE AREA ,AND HERE AMERICAN AIRLINES ARE THE KING OF THE HILLS!! THEY DO CHARGE WHATEVER THE FEE THEY WANT ! THE CHEAPEST WE WOULD GET TO PUJ RUNS AROUND IN THE $700’S 😒 AND THAT IS IF ONLY WE GET TO BUY IT AT LEAST 7-8 months before flying!! (Thanks again love your videos , your channel keeps growing as fast as the sargassum in the Caribbean , butttttt in a positive way!! I’m your number one fan in Matthews,nc )

  4. Best video to date on travel trends to D.R! Definitely Holy Grailed it. For me, it was acknowledgment that tri state & Boston won't see a big change in airfare. But I'll take whatever drops!😅

  5. The name of the other Dominican Airlines is Sky High, not to be confused with Sky Cana who operates with a Lithuanian air certificate. I was the 1st Director of Inflight for Arajet when it started in 2022

  6. Brother the DR government needs to
Make you an ambassador. Thank you for promoting the positive and helping others see and understand the beauty and all the good the DR has to offer!

  7. Hello Jamie, I have a small disagreement with you regarding our government. I don't think the are as smart as you think they are, specially when it come to taxes policies and the basic functioning of the government. Perhaps you are not following closely the news about the upcoming "fiscal reform", which is the governing class favorite euphemism for raising taxes. Does the government needs more revenue? Maybe, but I would like to know first what they did with the money we are giving them right now, because it's not properly invested.

Do you know that since we started budgeting 4% of GDP for education, we have spent over US$ 33 billion on it but our students remain at the bottom on regional rankings in performance. Tens of thousands of employees have been added to the government payroll in the current administration, millions have been borrowed to "solve the electricity problems" (we've been at it since the early 1970s). So the sentiment here is that we don't buy the government excuse for raising taxes, but they will do it anyway and they will still have deficits because they are not as disciplined and smart as you give them credit for.

  8. I don't agree with tax increase, you know all these politicians are corrupt and they take most of the money especially this government is worse than the last four administrations.

  9. Great info, the DR gov't talks so much about giving back to the diaspora…stick it to us every time…then again give it credit for this open skies agrrement, Abrazos desde Santiago 🙏(subscribed)

  10. Hey Jamie.. really enjoying your content. Been following you for a few months now and I appreciate your perspectives and insights about moving to and living in the Dominican Republic. What a beautiful country.

I’m looking forward to seeing if there will be regular flights from NYC metro area to El Catey Airport. I’m keeping my eye on Las Terrenas in addition to Punta Cana.

  11. Jamie, I'm the total opposite of you. You're a conservative living in my country while I'm a progressive (please, please don't call me liberal) living in yours, but man, what a tremendous respect I have for you!
I don't mind disagreeing with some of your stances because they are yours and make a lot of sense from your perspective and it's your prerogative. I only wish that in the US, the conservative movement goes back to their values, since liberals are useless at governing.

  12. Great topic again!!!!
I usually travel Jet Blue or United. Cheapest if you fly either at 3am or 6am to EWR or JFK. Usually you can get a basic ticket for as low as $129 with Jet Blue. United always is a winner when you upgrade to first class. There are many Dominicans that fly to and from the US. Especially JFK and EWR especially from STI and SD. I love flying with Dominicans because they appreciate the gift and blessings of having life . During the take off and landings -mainly – the praise and cheers are unbelievable!! Love it. Love it!!!!!
