  1. Thanks for sharing, Santiago doesn't live off tourism, theres a lot manufacturing plants and food processing plants for the country and export, Santiago is not a beach town, sorry no red lights districts, the people i should say very welcoming as long as there's respect. Welcome to my city. 🙏(SUBSCRIBED)🎉

  2. The ongoing expansion makes Santiago look chaotic. It has never been a tourist destination and its people (Santiagueros) are very proud of that fact. It's been called the cleanest city, but it doesn't look it with all the construction. It's 1 hour away from Puerto Plata through the highway, but 1.5 hours through an alternate gorgeous scenic way.
It's where majority of wealth comes from. There are some neighborhoods where it shows. Both, the president and vice president haul from Santiago.

  3. I am looking at the people and environment, and it does not look like most other parts of the DR. In fact, it looks different or more similar to south or central America. Why did you end up going to Santiago? It's not really a city where tourist go visit. It's more of a business location. You don't go there unless you go there for something specific to do.
