I'm glad I'm not a "luxury head," 'cause those room rates are outrageous and a brotha don't got it like that. That's why I avoid Punta Cana and kick it with the locals in Santo Domingo. The Holiday Inn Express in Piantini is more my speed. I pay for my room with IHG points and every 4th night is FREE! Additionally, it's easy to spread the wealth when you're not a resort property. As long as I don't get hit by the occasional motorcyclist driving on the sidewalk in Santo Domingo, I'm Gucci. 😂
Yes its an inevitability. They seem to have partnered with IMF which strongly encourages the profitability of the luxury sector. The economy is spelling out just who will be able to afford travel and vacations into the future.
The rise of condo hotels, may have been put out there with the budget tourist in mind.
Great advice about getting out to the people and blessing them as much as possible. Its important the people see some sort of profitability rather than just the few at the top.
