  1. Do not buy or bring any type of drug in the Dominican Republic ( including weed ) else you will end up in a Dominican jail. Do not use drugs in the Dominican Republic. Do not bring your bad habits in a very safe and organic country like the DR or you will pay the price of your stupidity. Last, but not least do not try to date minors or hit a woman, yes you will end up in jail as well.

  2. Great Advice, having lived there, and done business there for over 40 years, I would add the following: Water…absolutely 100% guaranteed NOT to drink, use etc. This includes fruit, salads, etc. Anything that would be washed with tap water. Cooking oil, they use peanut oil manufactured locally. It's not very well refined, which is ok, but it's very heavy and some folks have …say a "reaction" to this. Salami, longaniza, chimis, etc. A lot of street vendors and bodegas don't refrigerate, it will be a ticking time bomb if you consume it. At a hotel or restaurant it's safe, just avoid street vendors. Traffic is insane, and the vast portion of the insanity are the taxis, these guys will quadruple park to try to catch a fare, they are totally oblivious to horns, insults and bumps. Second, motoconchos, a kind of taxi service done with scooters and cheap motorcycles. They serve as auxiliary taxi service to rural areas. These guys are insane too, carrying up to 6 passengers or a 100lb propane cylinder! Guardia! or police officers, both green (Amet) or white shirts, they will stop you for bribes, so have a 100 peso bill tucked in the sunvisor to quickly provide the "amigo handshake" and be on your way. Cellphones…DO NOT use it while driving, unless you have handsfree, the greens and whites (cops) look out for this, they will confiscate your cellphone and vehicle etc. in order to get a higher "handshake" Finally, el "tigeraje" or bad guys. The Dominicans are the nicest and friendliest people I've ever met, having just met, they will invite you to their homes, are a lot of fun, kind, etc. However, they are that group of guys, called tigres by locals, and they can be as nasty as they come. If you're a tourist you will stick out like a sore thumb and it will attract the attention of the tigres. Also, if you go out to party, go with a local! They will help you navigate the complicated web trying to avoid el tigeraje. And one last note….DO TRY the Dominican breakfast, salami, huevo frito, mangu with a great Dominican coffee! But be warned, it is HEAVY and will stick to your ribs all day! Enjoy! Oh-Oh!

  3. Good info. I'm finally coming in March and staying at the Senator in puerto plata. And like you suggested I booked the luxury villa lol. Looking forward to seeing the island and property I could buy.

  4. LOL I think i got some bad ice once in the capital. My gut never got so emptied out by moving cars in my life.. I felt every vibration in the car rides the next 2 days.

I had good experiences in the 42 briefly but when we were there one night… seeing how dark those alley ways were I was on '10' with the spider senses and def with people like family.. not by myself. An extranjero, especially one that doesnt' speak Dominican def should not be wandering there

    Great Video!

  5. Funny thing I live in NYC, and I know better what happened. This girl lives in the country an like a typical [ GUACANAGARIXC ], she is quick to condemn the officers. And apologizes to some foreign IDIOT.
POR ESO EL PAIS LO CRITICAN TANTO Y ESTA COMO ESTA, ESTA MALDITA GENTE QUE LO UNICO QUE SABE HACER ES HABLAR MAL DEL PAIS CADA VEZ QUE PUEDEN y DESTRIPAR LA PATRIA POR UN MALDITO EXTRANJERO ESTUPIDO !!

  6. You even show in this video right when he is about to be walked into the room, THE MORON IS STILL RECORDING. He was told numerous times to STOP !! Those officers are following their directives from their supervisors. I SAY HE SHOULD HAD BEEN LOCKED UP FOR 30 days. NOTICE HOW HIS RECORDING STILL ENDED UP ON THE INTERNET

  7. [ FK-Him ] He was told to STOP RECORDING . . . . What part of STOP RECORDING don't you understand? — In NYC after 9/11 terrorist attack certain places are considered SENSATIVE AREAS . . . Again if you are told by local authorities, FOLLOW THE ORDERS AND DO IT, It's not your country . . . . SHOW RESPECT MORON !!
