This is not the typical Santo Domingo that most people show you! 🌆 We’ve moved from an all-inclusive resort in La Romana to the vibrant capital city of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. We’re staying in our favorite area, Piantini, known for its upscale vibe, trendy restaurants, and proximity to amazing spots.

In this video, we take you on a journey through our time in Piantini:✨ We kick off with an amazing brunch at Julieta Brasserie — their food is incredible!🛍️ Next, we explore the luxurious Blue Mall, where we stroll, shop, and enjoy a refreshing iced latte.🏨 We’re staying at the JW Marriott Santo Domingo, right in the Blue Mall. We’re using points for our stay and share a full hotel tour, including the stunning rooftop pool, a lobby with a glass-bottom floor, and our spacious room.🍹 To cap off the day, we head to 107 Rooftop for happy hour and breathtaking views of Santo Domingo.

We also talk about how we booked our stay using credit card points and highlight some of our favorite travel cards (links below).

  1. Felicidades Anna. Al igual que Happy BIrthday to you…..

  2. Happy Birthday Anna! Merry Christmas to both of you! I mentioned it before, but I'll say it again. You guys are the best! Looking forward to all your future adventures in 2025. Best wishes!

  3. My goodness I won't stop until you get sponsored by @mturismoRD …. You guys are awesome and your videos are the best publicity for our country .. now yours too. Please give these guys some crumbles of the pie @mturismoRD. They are well deserved it.❤❤❤

  4. The Dominican Republic has always been like this. It's just that large empires have promoted malicious false information. But the city has always been like this. That you have allowed a preconceived idea to be introduced is another thing.

  5. Hi guys, love the videos and hoping to be able to travel once our fur kids are gone if we aren't too old by then. I was just wondering whether or not anyone ever worries about the rebels in Haiti coming over?

  6. Happy Birthday Anna! and Merry Christmas to both of you. I'm sorry to say that i have absolutely no interest in traveling all the way to the DR to stay in a crowded, noisy city. Even for a day. Just not my thing. I did enjoy the mealtimes you shared. But the loud music, loud bikes, honking horns is not my idea of paradise or even a vacation. But hey, your channel, you do you. I can take an occasional city as long as you do some food views in there.

  7. Fantastic video Guys! I loved it, you guys always enjoying the time in DR! I hope the government do something about the traffic in the city cause I know it can be a nightmare getting around. Keep up the good work!!!

  8. I figured you would be living in Cabarete again. I thought about going back soon for a few weeks. Decided on Puerto Viejo again, easier to work in an earlier time zone. Quitting work after sunset in the Caribbean isn't fun 🙁

  9. Hello,
My husband and I will be headed to the DR in February. We've never been before, so I'm very excited.
Question: Everything I've read says don't drink the water or get ice?
I saw your drinks had ice.

  10. Wow the Dominican Republic have it own unique vibe. I have never been to Santo Domingo. I flew into the airport one night going to a different destination , so I never had a good look at the city. I plan on going there this year though. Nice video guys👌👌
