🇩🇴 Dominican football just made history Pablo Rosario scored in the 97th minute to beat Nicaragua 3-2, giving the Dominican Republic its first-ever victory in League A of the Concacaf Nations League. Why is that important? League A is the competition’s highest division. This was the Dominican men’s national team’s debut at that level, and they opened with a win in front of their home crowd at Estadio Cibao FC in Santiago. They earned their promotion after winning all six group matches in the previous League B campaign, a run that also secured their first Gold Cup appearance in 2025. Against Nicaragua, the Dominican team went ahead 2-0 before the visitors fought back to tie it. Then Rosario, who plays for Portugal’s FC Porto, delivered the stoppage-time winner. Six wins to earn their place. Now a first victory at the next level.
