VIK is a budget minded resort on some prime beach reality on Bavaro Beach, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This resort works well for those on a tight budget or with mobility needs as it only takes 5 minutes to walk from the lobby to the ocean, which is rare to find in this location. (Please note, there are no elevators, so if you require an accessible room, be sure to note this so that you can be placed on the ground floor.) While there is a good mix of nationalities, a bulk of guests are European. As such, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that many women go topless on the beach. Also with a wide mix of nationalities, you will hear all notifications and announcements in several different languages, which becomes daunting for the evening entertainment. As a budget resort, do not expect a stocked mini-
fridge. You are entitled to two large bottles of water. You will want to bring a travel mug with you if you desire to have anything other than water in your room. I actually found the food quality to be a step above several other resorts in this area and the rooms are very spacious.
