Sonia, you are brave to travel by yourself in DR like that. A road block like that could have been set up by thieves hiding in the bushes. Be very careful thieves are very friedly and they love foreigners.

I'm from Dominican Republic I always visit every few years lovvveeeeee ittttttt so much you should visit punta Cana and puerto plata love those.
We are planning a family trip to the DR, we are originally from there and our family warned us for a mosquito thats new there and is supposed to make you really really sick. Whats your advice, HELP?!
