Stay at The Domes Jarabacoa:

This week weโ€™re exploring the stunning mountain town of Jarabacoa in the Dominican Republic โ€“ and itโ€™s nothing like the rest of the country! ๐ŸŒ„

Most people picture beaches and palm trees when they think of the Dominican Republic, but Jarabacoa breaks all the stereotypes. Located high in the mountains, this unique destination is cool, lush, and full of natural beauty.

Weโ€™re staying at The Domes Jarabacoa, a gorgeous glamping experience perched above the town with incredible views. We take you on a full tour of the dome, cook dinner using the outdoor kitchen, and soak in the hot tub โ€“ a rare treat in the DR where hot water is usually the last thing you want!
Even though the weather wasnโ€™t on our side, we ventured out to visit Salto Baiguate, a beautiful waterfall tucked into the forest. Hereโ€™s the exact map location:๐Ÿ‘‰

Finally, we head into town (in the rain!) to check out Tostado, a lovely little cafรฉ. Here we have coffee and fresh local strawberry juice. You can find it here:๐Ÿ‘‰

Jarabacoa is one of the Dominican Republicโ€™s most surprising destinations โ€” come see why itโ€™s worth adding to your travel list!

  1. Hey guys , we are moving to DR from Canada and want to stay there for 6 months plus.
Do we need to buy return ticket to Canada ?
How do we handle the extended stay ?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  2. Me alegra verlos disfrutar de Jarabacoa. Disfruten de RD. Por casualidad han visitado ya, el Rio Partido?? Anoten ese lugar para que lo conozcan.

  3. The tree in the park is a saman or raintree. The waterfall des not normally have that much water. One can actually swim in the runoff when it is not rainy season. What is the price for staying at the Dome?

  4. Jarabacoa is one of our favorite places! There is a coffee production and roaster like a block away from central Jarabacoa. Cafe Monte Alto we never did a tour but we also stop by and buy their coffee and itโ€™s out of this world good! Next time back in the area definitely stop by and get some of their coffees!!!

  5. Sooooo nice to see a Canadian company as a sponsor! Hopefully Allison and Trevor will come visit our beautiful island of Cape Breton someday!๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

  6. Guys itโ€™s always a pleasure for me to watch videos of the beautiful Jarabacoa. What beautiful views. But did you hear the sound of any motorbikes up there๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ‘

  7. There's a connection between the waterfall and the big tree in the park.

When the Spanish arrived on the island, they called that tree as Ceiba, but long before, the local Taino called it Baiguate, which is the name of the waterfall.

  8. Just came back today from Halifax & Peggy's Cove! It was amazing but freezing. Next time you go to Jarabacoa, please go white water rafting. It's the best!

  9. Wow I am just amazed by those breathtaking views, thank you Ana and Trevor for sharing all the beauty that our country has to offer to everyone โค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘
