Road Trip To Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (episode 20)

In this episode, we start out with a hike as a family where Steve leads the way. Naturally, we go in the wrong direction and end up on our hike for hours. We make it back in time for Steve and Kami to go on a flight with friends high above Samana. The weather is perfect and beautiful!
That night we have dinner at the Beach Club with friends and later in the evening pull out the karaoke. We all have the best time and many of our friends can actually sing!
The next day we traveled to the big city of the Dominican Republic, Santa Domingo. We stayed at a unique Airbnb, and although it’s super loud it was still fun to experience.
We spend the days exploring the sites and history of the city. Lots of Christopher Columbus things.
We ate dinner at two awesome restaurants as a family.
When it’s time to leave we stop halfway at a waterfall. We have the whole place to ourselves we can’t believe it!
We make it back just as Easton starts to feel sick. He wants to stay on the boat while the rest of us go on a drive to El Valle. The boys skimboard on the beach and we just chill.
We come back for a couple days to get organized, do some boat projects and clean. I do laundry clear into the night.
The following day we take another day road trip to Las Galeras and the Playa Rincon beach. The boys once again skim board while Steve and I explore the river that runs along the rocks.

  1. 6:42 GAAAAWD!!! Stop talking!!!!!!!!!! It's the people who helped DR fight for independence. And the place is called Puerta del Conde. Stick to saving people, would ya! πŸ˜€

  2. Momma should have offered the Corrupt Police Man that pulled you over one of her Saucy Carribean Dances and you'd only have had to pay him $10 !!!! Now you know for next time!!!!! LOL πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ

  3. I came across your channel because I am a big fan of Eleana and Riley on SLV . You are slowly learning all the skills which look really daunting when you first set out. Selling up and buying a catamaran with school age children took a lot of courage. Would you do some video explaining why you even thought of leaving normality? I don't know how old your boys are, but besides the adventure side of things, how did they feel about giving up their mates and sports? I think a little more back story would be fascinating. Well done

  4. We're really exploring the tropical terrain here, not just doing the resorts. Love your road trips and hikes that penetrate the jungle. Even going undergroundβ€” those cenotes are amazing! If there's a waterfall around, we know the fun-lovin' Pancakes crew will find it. A different kind an adventure required to get the laundry done! An idyllic river indeed at 27:38, so pretty. Sounds like we're heading up into the trees for the next episode.

  5. Not the best camera you are using and your camerawork could use some pro training. Stop zooming in so much to start with. Your videos could have been so much nicer.

  6. The Dominican Republic looks so unspoiled, by the trappings of 'civilization'. Fun times on your machete walk, waterfall adventure, cenote tour, and dinner in the cave. The river water in the National Park was clear as a lens. You folks really know how to road trip!πŸŽ‰
