THIS is Why I Fell in LOVE with the Dominican Republic!

🇩🇴 JOIN THE DR INNER CIRCLE:

Americans are falling in love with the Dominican Republic — and today you’ll see why.

This story captures the real Dominican Republic most tourists never see: a culture rooted in kindness, connection, and community. When one of our DR Inner Circle members met a 12-year-old Haitian boy living on the streets, the response from Dominicans — and Americans living here — revealed what makes this country truly special.

I’ll take you behind the scenes of that story, introduce you to Second Mile Missions (a local school and charity changing lives), and show why so many expats are choosing to make the DR home.

👉 If you’re thinking about moving to the Dominican Republic, or you just want to understand what life here is really like beyond the resorts, this is for you.

  1. All those people in that center were Haitians and I'll bet all all illegal. DR is finished. Corrupt officials, corrupt police, corrupt immigration and army. NGO's, churches and foreigners all helping Haitians be illegal and displace Dominicans in DR.. Hospitals and schools are all full of Haitians. They hate Dominicans, and claim our land is theirs. Dominicans are asleep; urinating and defecating on the streets; Bringing voodoo, a disgusting practice that's against our constitution, just like Islam, which they are also bringing. We have had to fight so much to have our beloved DR and Dominicans are just handing it over without a fight. And to think I grew up without my father because he believed DR was worth fighting and dying for. Those children should have been handed to immigration. illegal Haitians should be helped in Haiti, not turn us into another Haiti. The globalists have won.

  2. Save 5,000 to go back to haiti?? Nobody believes that crap. 12 years old and Living on the street?? That's a scam my friend. This kids have people who send them to the street to beg fro money. Don't fall for that.

  3. You are the biggest asset to the DR, and the fact that the community is still community, if the United States was still like that kids wouldn’t be killing each other and trying to kill their parents… I love the fact that the DR has heart… One Love…Thank you Jamie for keeping it real…

  4. Yeah man I seen that before myself. We stayed over in Boca chica. We were eating some fried fish 2 young boys came over and asked if they could eat are leftovers. We had plenty my wife’s mom said they were from Haiti. We got them full stomach’s and a money. We didn’t know what else to do as we were on vacation. This was couple years ago. DR is beautiful and there is definitely plenty of improvement to go. We love DR and hope to have a house next year there.

  5. Good people still exist, Jamie. We always hear about bad people, so thank you for this video. Shout out to Angel and to you! This is your 49 brethren.

  6. Jamie, best video ever!!! Thank you so much i am crying my eyes out!!! I would love to participate here where i have been living for the last 5 years Puerto Plata!!! I love the Dominican Republic like i was born to be here!!! Real Dominicans are so thoughtful, kind and happy!!! Quick story, i was once on my way back from Miches going towards Puna Cana and i got a flat tire, there was this Dominican gentlemen on his bicycle (which we don't see a lot here in RD) he stopped and proposed tu help me to change my flat tire i mean it was about 200 degrees outside that day…so i said yes sure thank you so much…to finally realize that the men had only one hand the other one was chopped off !!!! he worked on it sweating like i never seen before and to ask him at the end how do i owe you?? he said nada senor!!! No no no that is not happening i will give you something, i gave him the 4000 pesos left i had on me and we went our ways!!!! I remember that story at least once a week!!! So to answer your question: ''I love DR for the people'' well it's 6 words but you'll forgive me i hope!!!!! Thanks again for that video!!!!

  7. Dominican treat their friends better than their family ! It’s part of our culture to be accommodating, nurturing and make others feel at home . it’s a code within our Taino DNA! It’s no wonder 3/4 of Hispaniola receives 12 million tourist ! We are caring , hospitable , giving people who will take the shirt off our back to give to someone in need . Without a doubt this is who we are! On the other hand our neighbors are not like us ! They are completely the apposite!
I would like to see some gratitude from the Haitian community instead of attacking and accusing DR of violating human rights and being racist. Also , we need to reciprocate the same acts of kindness and initiative to help out our own homeless Dominican children !

  8. Only advice to our expats is get to know haitian culture before you get involved with helping because haitian culture is not dominican culture. There is a reason why Haiti is Haiti and DR is DR. We don't have the same culture. The difference between DR and Haiti is culture.

  9. JG…North Coast reaching out. Community says it all. The best of friendships. The DR has a way of humbling " good people". We are blessed to be a guest in this country and act accordingly. A lot of respect goes out to gringo business owners that are following their dreams, the many volunteer organizations and missionaries that are selfless in acts and love. Peace & Love brother…
