  5. In the 70/80s the US was very present in the Dominican Republic. My father actually worked for a US company there which built an entire neighborhood based on American middle-class families that allowed us to live in a middle-class home with security and continuous electricity and go to an American school built by them as well and that offered us a great life and great opportunities. I am actually very excited about the US wanting to go back to DR again it creates so many opportunities for the country and wealth.

But as long as he never talks down on the Dominican Republic I will be open to what the US sees the Dominican Republic as an allied nation. Things are getting better in DR and it’s not just solely on the US. I don’t get how the US imposes a tax on a country that has a deficit on the US? They already get cheap things from DR and then we get a tariff on top? It has to change!!!

I just pray that he doesn’t partner with you guys and ruin what we all love about the DR….. He also believes that justice a laws only apply to certain people. Just turned on notifications, your videos are super informative and I love your love and vision por mi tierra. I’m from San Pedro but have been living in Jersey for 13 yrs. I’m about to turn 25 and since I work online, I’ve been thinking of moving back to DR with my husband who’s from Samaná where we met a year before I came to the states. I’m so grateful I became a citizen through my dad, got my degree here, and have made the most of the opportunities with my Dominican accent and all lol but honestly, I’m tired of this capitalist grind.
