In episode 2 of Grub with Gruber, my guest Pablo Enrique “Pablo the Trademark attorney’ talks about his Puerto Rican roots, retiring from the police department in New York, becoming an attorney and moving to Punta Cana Dominican Republic.
All while trying three AMAZING dishes:
– Terra Nachos
– Chicharron guacamole
– Savory Beef tacos
Thanks to Terra Negra in Punta Cana for hosting us.

Who plays the theme song to this podcast?
Yes Dominicans and Puerto Ricans are one in my family 50/50 πͺ
We have similar experience from NYC no longer want to be in a city I love but has dramatically changed already with family and friends starting a development of realstate in punta Cana D.R.
Amazing you guys killed it.. I will be retiring in Punta Cana also coming from Sedona, AZ ππΎππΎ
Very nice and interesting video β€π
Great spot. Iβll hit it when i am in punta cana next time.
Pues muy bien por RD ya era hora a si ya no tienen que cruzar los mares para venir o perder tu vida para llegar a PR. Ya santo Domingo lo tiene todoβ¨
Dominican food hands down! DR produces most of its food it consumes making their food much fresher and delicious. Puerto Rico has to import all of its food and makes the food taste very American like.
I can tell this guy was raised his New York
Because his work ethic is phenomenal.
Once a New Yorker remains a New Yorker.
The streets of hard knocks. That Hustle mentality, gotta get it, gotta have it.
I would say that Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico we compete in many fields, we are like the main players in the Caribbean, also Cuba. Food, Music, Sports. Too give some people perspective when we play Basketball or Baseball is like Cricket game India vs Pakistan.
Jamie your too humble your Spanish is MUY BUENO!!!
I can't get tired of enjoy your videos Jim. Outstanding Job
Love this πfrom a Dominican living in Boston

The thing is like in the end or early we always stick together.
He's right. That's crazy. I'm Dominican and I never want to be with Puerto Rican and that's crazy. Because both of my baby mom are Puerto Rican and why the only one is Dominican.
β€β€thanks! Great ππ½. I am Dominican π©π΄πΊπΈ. Planning to retire in Punta Cana πποΈποΈποΈποΈ

Very interesting and nice conversation, a lot to learn and a lot to appreciate!.
I would say since George in 98, hurricanes haven't been that bad, I am not denying there has been a lot of damage by the others but compared to George, the rest been ok.
Cuba, Quisqueya and Boriquen are the same. Same Taino, African and Spanish blood, similar culture, similar food. Someone whoβs not from our islands canβt tell us apart. Iβve never understood those who say otherwise.
πππ βmystery meatβ πππ
Iβm Dominican and I enjoyed this interview a lot.
There has always been this βcompetitionβ between DR & PR but in the end we both know is non sense. We love PR, their music (the old school music).
Blessings to both of you πππ
Food is very similar but prefer Dominican Food. Taste, variety and price. High end Restaurants in the DR can compete with the best restaurants in the world for a fraction of the price and same or better quality.
What they can says Dominican is more diverse than.
Guavate has too many has cooked chicharrΓ³n and didnβt do it for me
I said it before puertoricans are masters in their typical food. What i have to give it to DR is international food restaurants and the quality and price compare to PR
