While everyone is focused on Punta Cana, a different beach town in the Dominican Republic is quietly positioning itself as the next major real estate and tourism boom. In this video, I break down why this emerging coastal town is attracting investors, developers, Dominican diaspora, and long-term travelers before it hits the mainstream.
We’ll cover real estate opportunities, infrastructure, tourism trends, lifestyle appeal, and why prices are still relatively affordable compared to markets like Punta Cana. If you’re interested in Dominican Republic real estate, beachfront investment, relocation, or early-stage markets, this is a town you need to have on your radar.
Whether you’re looking to invest, relocate, retire, or diversify internationally, this video explains why timing matters and what makes this beach town different from hype-driven destinations.

Jonah Great video Brotha.Happy & Very Blessed,Healthy,Prosperous and Joyous 2026 to you and your family.I had some questions regarding investing in real estate in the RD didn't know if there is a way I cold send you a message and of if you welcome messages and questions.Any information would be greatly appreciated sir.
This so great to see our little island finally becoming a world class country. So much investment, so much movement and interest in our little place on earth. I visited Puerto Plata like 10 years ago and its definitely has its own charm. Being in the Cibao the people also add to the experience and situation on that northern coast is no joke. Great video and God bless DR 🇩🇴🇩🇴
the sea on the north side is just to Wild! Las terrenas is so much better to me
One thing that really needs to be addressed, and quickly, is the overwhelming number of motorcycles on the road creating chaos in traffic. It would be great if the government could step in and take action.
Thank you for sharing.
The past governments completely forgot and ignored this beautiful city! Thank God its getting rescued by the actual authorities!
Interesting how you left Sosua Beach out on the conversation.
Its great to see Puerto Plata reviving again, but there is no need to say others have tried to replicated it and failed, each city in DR have their own beauty and are also progressing at their own pace and possibilities…. By the way the rustic cement beach bungalows you are showing looks like Arroyo Salado, Cabrera.
When will Dominicans take back their beaches? Beaches are no longer for the public but for resorts. This is why I prefer Puerto Ricans because at least they have the culture of protecting their homeland. Majority of beaches in Dominican Republic are privatize. There is too much privatization.
I’m here now. Great video.
Great video! I also am thinking of investing in RD. I keep leaning towards Sosua or Cabarete. I really like the Private Villas such as in CasaLinda Villa community in Sosua. Although, I keep researching in other Villa communities. Puerto Plata is right there, Santiago just 45 minute drive.
that highway for sure
Viva-Bravo to POP! Greating from CHI-TOWN CHICAGO! Thanks for sharing this excellent and informative podcast on PUERTO PLATA aka POP!
I have never been to the Northern part of the island. I am going to have to take a road trip from Punta Cana
Fantastic perspective. Proud to call POP our home. Thanks for sharing!
I recognized Puerto Plata's malecon from the opening shot. I was there end of November, I got engaged on one of the beaches there. Beautiful beach but then spent the day in the city, many of the businesses were closed and couldn't figure out why. I was hoping to like the vibe and might open a business there.. I was a Saturday and there were many dominicans and tourist visiting but couldn't understand why so many businesses were closed.
Stop bringing more Gringos here 😉 My favorite original DR city.
