Book/stay at Camp David Ranch:

After exploring the busy, modern city of Santiago de los Caballeros, we escaped just outside the city to a place Dominicans kept telling us we HAD to visit… and wow, they were right.

Welcome to Camp David Ranch — a stunning mountain retreat overlooking Santiago with some of the most incredible views we’ve seen in the DR. Just a short drive from the city, but it feels like a completely different world up here.

In this video, we:
✨ Show you why this is one of the best quick getaways from Santiago
✨ Tour the beautiful grounds and unique vintage car collection
✨ Give you a full look at our hotel room and what it’s like to stay here
✨ Eat at one of the most highly-rated restaurants in the Dominican Republic
✨ Enjoy an unforgettable dinner overlooking the city lights at night

If you’re looking for something different to do in the Dominican Republic — beyond the beaches — this might just be one of the most underrated spots in the country.

*We were hosted by Camp David Ranch for our hotel room/meal but all opinions are our own.

  1. Great video as usual…
When you guys decide to visit the south of the country.please go to playa los patos in Barahona…and villa mirian such a nice and beautiful place.❤❤🫡

  2. One beautiful place after another, how awesome is that. I am starting to believe that if a person could never leave the Dominican Republic. They could really enjoy life there without leaving.😄👍

  3. I enjoy your videos and your content. I am wanting to stay in the DR for a month preferably Sosua. Are you familiar with any places to rent for myself. I was also thinking about Las Terrenas. I am looking to live in the DR and figured a month to figure it out. I’ve been the twice. Love the nature there❤

  4. I moved to the DR in 1999 where I rented a bungalow (Cana) house that was a pilot house (owners house) prior to them building a 10k sq. ft mountain top home in Jamao.. As you are probably aware of tarantulas love Cana and I quickly found out that it was occupied by gigantic ones. Then I moved to Cabarete behind the first gas station as you enter into the city. Loved going to “Dicks bakery”, the coffee and fresh baked treats were tits. Then in 02 moved to SOSUA full time, then to Santiago, then to Jarabacoa then back to Santiago. Left in 06. Now planning to move back to Santiago. Should have stayed in Jarabocoa but my wife wanted better education for the children that Santiago offered. The real estate was so cheap in Jarabacoa then, the lots in the area I was living have appreciated fifteen times or more. When I get back I’ll let you know, would love to have you and wife over for a lunch or coffee, my wife is a Dominican lawyer.. There’s a great panderia in Santiago called Alberto, get the Dominican cake pineapple, it’s as my friend (who had a very successful restaurant in Singer island) use to say“ I thought I died and went to heaven “. Love your videos!

  5. To be honest, you look nice and everything, but I really don’t like foreigners living in the island. What you do is you take away from the locals. Everything becomes more expensive because of people like you. When I go there frequently because my parents are there I really don’t wanna see Americans or foreigners. I’m just being honest.
